In this depiction of the artist’s studio the art is extending beyond the canvas, manifesting in the studio, this gradually starts to happen as a painting progresses and this is where control is handed off from the artist to the art where a painting takes on a life of it’s own. The line between reality and art is vague, only a few clues of scale and shadow can give you a hint of which is which.
Part of the new collection Studio of Life, these works express the intimacies and intricacies of the artist studio and what the space encomapsses both creatively and symbolically.
