A peek into my studio
I create representational expressive abstract art that is identifiable by itβs bold, bright colours and strong yet delicate composition. Art for the soul, art for the home; because everybody deserves to be surrounded by vivid, joyful, evocative and mindful art that they connect with. As a visual artist my focus shifts between several subjects in intervals of deep focus I then tend to merge these together. Continuously appreciating my surroundings, I strive to convey a message of curiosity and joy in daily life.
A studio is a sanctuary, a sacred place and a playground.
Having moved 5 times across different countries in the past 10 years, I learned one important fact WHEREVER YOU CREATE YOUR STUDIO MANIFESTS. A studio is a state of mind and it can be whatever you need it to be, your sanctuary when you crave the flow, your sacred place when you need to ponder and your playground when you need to explore or shake the energy up.
Making Art is a calling, a privilege and a duty. I aim to express and connect. I love interacting with people about my work and always ask what they see in a painting, no matter how abstract or representational a work is they always see something different and when they truly connect with a piece it is a treasure very deep inside of them.
Talent is something but not everything, I try to stay busy with working on my skill and developing new techniques. Exploring and experimenting while being authentic to help my style and voice always show through.
I was lucky to drink in the Italian Art in Milan and Florence, feast my eyes on the Tuscan, Ligurian and Alpine scenes igniting a flame that kept on going. My work is influenced by my travels in Europe especially the countryside. My move to Singapore is when my work took a serious dedication and again I consider myself lucky to have studied at La Salle and with accomplished Artists in Singapore while exploring the Asian art scene and cultures across the region through my travels.
My repatriation home after a longing came as a welcome change with a mindful attitude and appreciation of all that Egypt has to offer with gratitude to the many experiences abroad that highlight the local beauty and rich culture we have here at home. Hoping to always be working with fresh eyes and a grateful heart.
Iβm still on the move calling home wherever I setup my studio and enjoy watching my work absorb my surroundings. Consciously creating as soon as I possibly can in a new country helps me create with fresh inspiration before I can get used to my new surroundings and God forbid take them for granted. Continuously examining my relationship to the work and exploring itβs impact on myself in a way that is relevant to others around me.
